Seasonal Wildlife Field Technicians
Wind Energy Division
Woodlot Alternatives, Inc is hiring
project field technicians for the fall 2007 field season, starting in late
August or early September. Primary responsibilities will
involve conducting natural resource surveys and providing field support for
a number of wildlife field efforts, including extensive night surveys for a
variety of species. Projects are located throughout the Northeast and
Mid-Atlantic states.
These seasonal
contract positions require a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental
discipline and 1 to 3 years field experience. Candidates should have a solid
background in wildlife, taxonomy, and/or botany, with some exposure to
sampling protocols and field project logistics. Superb observation skills
are highly valued, as are a keen interest in ecosystems, comfort with
computers and technology, a willingness to learn new skills while conducting
fieldwork in rural or wilderness settings, and flexibility in work

Compensation includes competitive
pay, lodging, and per diem for meals. A willingness to travel and work long
hours in the field is necessary. Some positions are also available to

Senior Project Managers
New England Region
Woodlot is currently looking for Senior Project
Managers (SPMs) for our Topsham, ME, Burlington, VT and Pittsfield, MA
offices. SPMs are responsible for managing multiple projects and clients,
managing staff, and maintaining a high billable rate. We are seeking
energetic, well-organized individuals with great writing and speaking skills,
who are looking for a chance to grow within an exceptional organization.
Excellent pay and benefits packages are available.
SPM duties at Woodlot include marketing to potential
clients, defining scopes of work and cost estimates, delegating work tasks and
schedules to staff, monitoring project status and work results, preparing and
monitoring project budgets and expenses, approving draft invoices, quality
control, and managing client relations. SPMs report on project progress and
status to Woodlot’s Division Director, are responsible for managing QA/QC
protocols, marketing, and assisting in employee evaluations with the Division
Director as appropriate.
A degree in an environmental, planning, engineering, or
legal field is required, as well as 5-10 years experience in planning,
consulting, or regulatory permitting work. Travel within the New England
region is required.

Water Resources Division

Project Manager to manage multiple wetland-related projects throughout the
Northeast. Responsibilities include wetland delineations and
characterizations, proposal and report preparation, wetland permitting,
mitigation planning, client
management, and related project management tasks. This position requires a
Bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline, 4 to 6 years of wetlands
experience and 5 to 10 years of project management experience. Superb

Wetland Project Scientist - Maine
Water Resources Division
Woodlot seeks a Wetland
Project Scientist based in the Topsham, Maine office to work on wetland-related projects throughout the Northeast. Responsibilities include wetland delineations and
characterizations, proposal and report preparation, and assisting in wetland permitting.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental discipline and
2 to 5 years field experience with some exposure to project management.
Candidates should have a solid background in wetland science, soil science,
botany, and wildlife biology. Experience in wetland delineation, wetland
function and value assessments, and wetland impact permitting is preferred.
Preference will also be given toward candidates that have HAZWOPER 40-hour
training. Superb writing skills are highly valued, as are a keen
interest in ecosystems, comfort with computers and technology, a willingness

seeks a Senior Project Scientist for our western Massachusetts office (WMO).
Responsibilities may include business development, project management, wetland
delineations and characterizations, proposal and report preparation, and
wetland alteration permitting. This position requires a Bachelor’s
degree in a relevant environmental discipline, 10 or more years of
environmental consulting experience, and detailed knowledge of Massachusetts
and federal environmental permitting. Excellent writing skills are required.
